President Packer told all of the MP and their wives that “You are good enough, your testimony is strong enough.” He didn’t say that because they are a group of weak folks, but rather so that self doubt could be reduced when we remember that the President of the 12 confirmed we were OK and moving forward.
Elder Holland reminded us that we are send forth to teach the gospel and that we should inspire and teach from the scriptures and PMG – not to use stories from Chicken soup for the soul, readers digest or other feel good sources.
There was a remarkable bond with the other MP and wives as we undertake this assignment together. I sat next to surgeons, attorneys, a man who has served in the first presidency office for over 10 years, various business owners, school teachers, a Harvard law professor, and a variety of other folks who have had impressive and some not so impressive careers. It is interesting to see how the Lord can use a wide variety of folks to carry forth his work.
