Week Ending July 19, 2008

This week we completed a week # four.

Specifics for this week – ending 7-19-08
Sister Macdonald and I took at least a few hours of a prep day on Monday and went to Crater Lake on the way down to Klamath Falls. It is beautiful. It is the deepest lake in the USA at almost 2,000 feet and it is - as the name implies - the inside of a crater. You can’t walk down to it except in one location and we didn’t have the time, but we hope to sometime.

I have continued to work of the transfer board with my assistants this week, and we need to finish it up this coming week.

We finished our round of mini zone conferences this week in Klamath Falls, Bend / Redmond, and in Springfield and Santa Clara that are here in the Eugene area. I have now interviewed all of the missionaries. The vast majority of them are hardworking and fully committed young men and woman who are trying their hardest to do the right thing. It is a pleasure to know them and try and help them.

I made a few extra trips to see and counsel with two specific missionaries and Sister Macdonald traveled up to see a missionary in Salem who had knee surgery this week. So this week - between our separate tips - we logged over 800 miles on the car.

We are having the senior office missionaries (the Lees and the Rosenthal’s) over for dinner tonight and then we are speaking at a fireside Sunday. We also have the three combined zone conferences this next week. So this weekend we also have talks and workshops to prepare so we are ready for next week.
